With gratitude, passing along high praise

I’ve been telling stories of how the Affordable Care Act (ACA) is improving people’s lives ever since I worked on the Obama 2012 campaign as Michigan’s Deputy Digital Director. And I picked up the pace in 2013 as open enrollment began — and inaccurate “horror stories” began flooding the media.

I haven’t let up and I don’t intend to.

weloveobamacareI think it’s important for everyone to hear the voices of some of the millions of Americans who are finally getting insurance or, like me, are getting covered for far less.

Helping people share their stories is its own reward, but I was humbled and honored by the praise I received from one of my fellow bloggers at Eclectablog:

Putting a face on those who have benefited from Obamacare and those who could be crushed if the Supreme Court guts the law is essential — and no one has been doing a better job of it than our Amy Lynn Smith.

I’m going to keep telling stories like these, including stories about how access to insurance is tangibly improving people’s health. Knowing that people I respect think my work is making a difference makes me more motivated than ever.
