Simplifying the complexities of healthcare for consumer audiences is one of the things I do best. I create educational, empowering content that helps consumers be more engaged in their own health and wellness, often by telling stories of people’s personal experiences. I develop content for all media, with an emphasis on health literacy and consumer outreach. My expertise includes wellness and prevention, public education, patient decision aids, disease management, research advances and healthcare reform. I have written extensively on the Affordable Care Act, patient advocacy and informed decision-making.
I’m proud of my work with some of the leading organizations in healthcare and evidence-based information, such as USP and Consumer Reports for the Choosing Wisely campaign. Other clients I’ve served include Johns Hopkins Medicine, Cleveland Clinic, Kaiser Permanente, the Institute for Functional Medicine and Mark Hyman, M.D. In 2014, MICHUHCAN (Michigan Universal Health Care Access Network) honored me with a Health Care Hero award for my advocacy through social media, education and storytelling.
