Teaching, Training + Development

From the classroom to the boardroom, I give people and organizations the tools they need to shine. This work includes teaching, professional training and philanthropic development.

Building on decades of experience as a writer and communications strategist, I teach university courses at the undergraduate and graduate level, with an emphasis on public interest communications, storytelling and writing. I am passionate about helping students learn and grow, providing the feedback and support they need to excel. I also offer a wide range of coaching services for individuals and groups. I have developed curricula for numerous writing and storytelling trainings tailored to specific needs. I’m often called on to help people turn complex ideas into reader-friendly content and build stories that can move audiences to action.

In addition, I provide speaker coaching that helps professionals present their best selves onstage, working closely with them to sharpen their delivery, stage presence and ability to engage audiences. With a deep background in theatre – both performing and directing – I have a unique approach to speaker coaching that builds confidence and poise. I also support speakers in the development of their presentations.

For many years, I was the lead speaker coach for the frank gathering hosted by the Center for Public Interest Communications, which I have also served as a writing/storytelling coach.

In addition to teaching and coaching, I provide organizations with development and fundraising support: grant writing, proposal writing, donor relations content and more. I bring my experience in effectively reaching audiences to the task of creating compelling content that moves donors to give at both the institutional and individual level.
